ODOMETER SENSOR

Also called vehicle speed sensor, it is a component in charge of measuring the vehicle speed information. Depending on the model, it transmits the information to the control unit, ECU, or to the dashboard.

Today, the new vehicles are no longer equipped with this type of sensor.

LOCATION

The location of the odometer sensor may vary depending on the model and make of the vehicle, but in most cases, it is located in the gearbox or transmission of the car. The sensor is usually placed near the gearbox output or on one of the vehicle’s wheels.
